Q:  Before you come to help me organize, do you want me to clean?  Should I remove things?  Should I move the furniture out so you have a clean slate to start from?
Lisa's AnswerPlease leave everything as it would be normally.  This way I can make a proper assessment and see your normal traffic patterns.  This helps create a plan that works best for you.  Ideally it would be nice if there were no children (unless they old enough to help) or pets in the area.

Q:  Do you belong to a national organization with a code of ethics?  I want to be sure my 'stuff' is secure from prying eyes!
Lisa's Answer:  Yes, I belong to the National Association of Professional Organizers.  I live by its code of ethics when working in your home or office or when organizing your computer.  Click here to read the Code of Ethics of NAPO.

Q:  Why not just do it myself?
Lisa's Answer:  I'll get it done!

Lisa's Second Answer:   I can bring an objective eye to ask the right questions.  I can give recommendations based on my experience and can offer suggestions you may not have thought of.

Q:  What do you do when you come in to help me get organize?  What does a typical session look like?
Lisa's Answer:  At the 1st session I will spend 5-60 minutes (depending on the size of the project) asking you few questions to determine how to get started.  Then we dig right into the project for the remainder of the session.  A typical session last about 3-4 hours (this allows you to see some progress but keeps you from getting overwhelmed.)   We will work together most of the time sorting items and setting up systems.  Ideally it would be nice if there were no children (unless they old enough to help) or pets in the area.

Q:  Do you supply the storage containers for organizing?
  Lisa's Answer:
  •   I bring some basic containers with me that you can purchase.
  •   During the first session, I will make recommendation on what items you can purchase and where to find them.  I do have pictures of many items.
  •   I can do the shopping for you.  Please ask for the cost of shopping!

Q:  How much do you charge?
Lisa's Answer:  I charge a reasonable hourly rate that we will discuss during our 1st phone or email conversation.  I typically run a monthly special.  (For example:  May – One hour free after three)

Q:  Will you make me get rid of a lot of stuff.
Lisa's Answer:  We will work together to determine what needs to stay and what needs to go.  Most people really enjoy seeing their space open up when getting rid of things.

Lisa’s L's to Sort:

LOVE it – I love to use it frequently or it holds a very special memory!

LIKE it – I’m not sure right now because I kind of like it.

LEND it – It belongs at a family or friends home. (Of course it’s something you lend without ever wanting back)

LEAVE it – I will take it and leave it at a donation site.

LOSE it – Trash – I will lose it on the curb.
